Available options: selected coffin graves, selected urn graves, columbarium niches, sponsorship of historic graves.

Resting period

Under the church cemetery law, the resting period is at least 20 years; local cemetery rules may specify a longer period. Ask the administration for the applicable period and the term of the grave-use right.

Costs and cemetery fees

Example charges: coffin burial €753; burial of an urn in the ground €171. Grave-use rights are charged separately. A chapel ceremony of up to 30 minutes costs €146, plus €48 for each further started ten-minute period. A memorial and agreed care may add to the total. Ask the administration for the complete calculation.

History and distinctive features

Opened in 1825, Dreifaltigkeitskirchhof II is the oldest of the four Bergmannstraße cemeteries. Lime avenues, cast-iron grave railings and elaborate family tombs shape the grounds. The Egyptian-style Oppenfeld mausoleum dates from 1828; Adolph von Menzel and Friedrich Schleiermacher are also buried here.
