Finding a grave
For a grave-location enquiry, contact the responsible cemetery administration at sga-friedhoefe@ba-mh.berlin.de. Give the deceased person’s name, the cemetery and any known birth, death or burial dates; ask for the section and plot number. After the resting period or plot rights expire, an administrative search incurs a charge even if it is unsuccessful.

Grave types and allocation
Selected and row coffin plots, selected and row urn plots, and anonymous communal urn plots.
Allocation of grave rights
Plot rights are normally acquired for 20 years. Selected and family plots may be extended; row and communal plots cannot be extended. Arrange the particular plot type and available space with the responsible administration.
Costs and cemetery fees
Calculated examples under the 2026 tariff for a new plot and one interment without a ceremony: selected coffin plot €857, row coffin plot €780, selected urn plot €669, row urn plot €639, anonymous communal urn plot €704. They include the €52 administration charge, basic cemetery fee and interment; provision and maintenance are also included where required for that plot type. If the cemetery cannot store a coffin, the coffin-interment charge is reduced by €15. Memorials, additional services, cremation and funeral-director costs are excluded. New charges take effect on 1 January 2027; the tariff in force when the application is received determines the charge.
Grave care and local services
For a selected plot, clarify individual care arrangements when the plot is allocated. Where communal graves are offered, maintenance of the shared green area is part of that arrangement.

History and distinctive features
A lime-tree avenue runs through the park-like Mahlsdorf Cemetery. At the entrance at Lemkestraße 156, a plaque installed in 2018 commemorates the Jewish Guthmann family. Their former property became part of the cemetery extension in 1967; they had lived there until their deportation in 1943.
