Finding a grave
For a grave-location enquiry, contact the responsible cemetery administration at sg-fried@ba-sz.berlin.de. Give the deceased person’s name, the cemetery and any known birth, death or burial dates; ask for the section and plot number. After the resting period or plot rights expire, an administrative search incurs a charge even if it is unsuccessful.

Grave types and allocation
Selected coffin plots, lawn row coffin plots, selected urn plots, communal urn areas, maintained urn and partner communities, family plots and coffin or urn plots in the Memoriam garden.
Allocation of grave rights
Plot rights are normally acquired for 20 years. Selected and family plots may be extended; row and communal plots cannot be extended. Arrange the particular plot type and available space with the responsible administration.
Costs and cemetery fees
2026 tariff. Indicative administration charges with / without a funeral ceremony: selected coffin plot €1,044 / 865; selected urn plot €874 / 717. Anonymous communal urn plot €901 / 744, including grave care. Maintained urn community €836 / 679, plus the care contract and memorial. Lawn row coffin plot €1,982 / 1,803. These are not the total cost of a funeral; funeral-director services, memorial approval, stonemasonry and any separate grave care are additional. New charges take effect on 1 January 2027; the tariff in force when the application is received determines the charge.
Funeral dates and ceremonies
Urn interments without a ceremony on Mondays, coffin burials on Wednesdays and urn interments on Thursdays, each until 14:00. The funeral director needs written appointment confirmation from the administration.
Funeral hall and chapel
The large chapel, with about 120 seats and 25 standing places, is currently being remodelled. The small chapel accommodates about 40 people. Both are described as accessible; check the large chapel’s availability before arranging a ceremony.

For the Memoriam garden and maintained burial community, the borough lists Veckenstedt, Onkel-Tom-Straße 29, telephone 030 801 84 21. For the urn partner community it lists Blüte & Stil, Röblingstraße 91, telephone 030 80 58 21 17.

Both chapels are accessible. During the large chapel’s refurbishment, check the intended access and ceremony room with the administration.

Oak avenues shape Zehlendorf Cemetery. Two listed chapels represent different building periods: the neo-Gothic brick chapel of 1885 and the Expressionist funeral hall of 1931–32, designed by Erich Schwietz, form a distinctive architectural ensemble.
