History and distinctive features

Established in 1890, the St Pius and St Hedwig IV sections form one cemetery in Alt-Hohenschönhausen. The large neo-Gothic brick chapel in the Pius section was built in 1905–1907 to plans by Adolf Bürckner and also served as a parish church for a period. The grounds include war graves and memorial burial areas.
