History and distinctive features

The Protestant Cathedral Cemetery I originated with the Berlin Cathedral congregation’s land purchase in 1830. The cathedral’s former golden dome cross has stood here since 2006. Historic wall tombs and a former border strip converted into a habitat after 1990 reflect different periods of the cemetery’s history.
