Finding a grave
Neukölln cemetery administration handles burial enquiries for its eight cemeteries. Records beyond the 20-year resting period may require a paid archive search. After the resting period or plot rights expire, an administrative search incurs a charge even if it is unsuccessful.

Grave types and allocation
Selected urn plots without advance purchase during lifetime. Coffin burials are limited to additional burials in existing selected plots.
Allocation of grave rights
Plot rights are normally acquired for 20 years. Selected and family plots may be extended; row and communal plots cannot be extended. Arrange the particular plot type and available space with the responsible administration.
Costs and cemetery fees
Calculated examples under the 2026 tariff for a new plot and one interment without a ceremony: selected urn plot €669. They include the €52 administration charge, basic cemetery fee and interment; provision and maintenance are also included where required for that plot type. A ceremony of up to 30 minutes normally adds €159. Memorials, additional services, cremation and funeral-director costs are excluded. New charges take effect on 1 January 2027; the tariff in force when the application is received determines the charge.
Funeral dates and ceremonies
Burials on Wednesday and by arrangement. The funeral director arranges the individual appointment by telephone with the administration.
Funeral hall and chapel
Funeral hall with 60 seats, separate accessible toilet, wheelchair and harmonium.
Grave care and local services
For a selected plot, clarify individual care arrangements when the plot is allocated. Where communal graves are offered, maintenance of the shared green area is part of that arrangement.
Accessibility and facilities
A separate accessible toilet and a wheelchair are available.

History and distinctive features
The park-like Columbiadamm Cemetery was formerly the New Garrison Cemetery. Its military history is visible in monuments such as Johannes Boese’s 1888 memorial to the wars of 1866 and 1870/71. The grounds also contain civilian graves and Muslim burial sections; the Turkish Cemetery is a separate neighbouring site.
