Finding a grave

For a grave-location enquiry, contact the responsible cemetery administration at Friedhof@reinickendorf.berlin.de. Give the deceased person’s name, the cemetery and any known birth, death or burial dates; ask for the section and plot number. After the resting period or plot rights expire, an administrative search incurs a charge even if it is unsuccessful.

Grave types and allocation

Selected and row urn plots and a communal urn area.

Allocation of grave rights

Plot rights are normally acquired for 20 years. Selected and family plots may be extended; row and communal plots cannot be extended. Arrange the particular plot type and available space with the responsible administration.

Costs and cemetery fees

Calculated examples under the 2026 tariff for a new plot and one interment without a ceremony: selected urn plot €669, row urn plot €639, anonymous communal urn plot €704. They include the €52 administration charge, basic cemetery fee and interment; provision and maintenance are also included where required for that plot type. Memorials, additional services, cremation and funeral-director costs are excluded. New charges take effect on 1 January 2027; the tariff in force when the application is received determines the charge.

Grave care and local services

For a selected plot, clarify individual care arrangements when the plot is allocated. Where communal graves are offered, maintenance of the shared green area is part of that arrangement.

Location profile

History and distinctive features

The small Hermsdorf II Cemetery is surrounded by detached houses and divided into rectangular and square burial sections. A basilica-shaped chapel stands at its centre. Family tomb walls dating from 1897 to 1909 survive along the western boundary, including those of the Rochs, Hartbrodt and Guderjan families.
