Finding a grave
For a grave-location enquiry, contact the responsible cemetery administration at friedhofsverwaltung@ba-pankow.berlin.de. Give the deceased person’s name, the cemetery and any known birth, death or burial dates; ask for the section and plot number. After the resting period or plot rights expire, an administrative search incurs a charge even if it is unsuccessful.

Grave types and allocation
Selected and row coffin plots, selected and row urn plots, and anonymous communal urn plots.
Allocation of grave rights
Plot rights are normally acquired for 20 years. Selected and family plots may be extended; row and communal plots cannot be extended. Arrange the particular plot type and available space with the responsible administration.
Costs and cemetery fees
Calculated examples under the 2026 tariff for a new plot and one interment without a ceremony: selected coffin plot €857, row coffin plot €780, selected urn plot €669, row urn plot €639, anonymous communal urn plot €704. They include the €52 administration charge, basic cemetery fee and interment; provision and maintenance are also included where required for that plot type. If the cemetery cannot store a coffin, the coffin-interment charge is reduced by €15. A ceremony of up to 30 minutes normally adds €159. Memorials, additional services, cremation and funeral-director costs are excluded. New charges take effect on 1 January 2027; the tariff in force when the application is received determines the charge.
Funeral hall and chapel
The funeral hall was rebuilt after the 1993 fire and reopened in 1998.
Grave care and local services
For a selected plot, clarify individual care arrangements when the plot is allocated. Where communal graves are offered, maintenance of the shared green area is part of that arrangement.
Notable graves and memorials
Entertainer Helga Hahnemann has an honorary grave here.

History and distinctive features
Pankow VII Cemetery, also known as Wilhelmsruh Cemetery, is in Rosenthal. The Berlin Wall once occupied part of its rear grounds along the boundary with Reinickendorf. The present funeral hall, built in 1998, replaced its predecessor after an arson attack in 1993.
