Zur frohen Botschaft Cemetery was created in 1907 when part of the New Friedrichsfelde Cemetery was separated for the Karlshorst parish. The two cemeteries form a continuous green space on Robert-Siewert-Straße. Their shared cemetery complex also includes an inland dune with pine and pedunculate oak trees.
